Markus’ greetings and gratitude for the past years
Dear Digita customers and stakeholders,
My long career at Digita has now reached the point where it is time to thank our customers and partners for the past years. The decision to leave was very difficult. Digita has given me a meaningful job, important colleagues, a diverse network and an excellent opportunity for career development. However, it was now time to stop and think about whether I still want to look for experiences and learning outside Digita. After a long consideration, I came to this conclusion when an interesting opportunity emerged.
Digita has changed significantly over my 22-year career. In addition to traditional TV and radio services, there are now an increasing number of telecom businesses, such as mast business, data centers, private networks, IOT networks and services for security-critical customer groups. In my work, I have had the opportunity to be responsible for all of Digita’s businesses at some point. For the past nearly ten years, I have worked as COO with a focus on growing telecom businesses. I feel like now that new businesses are growing well, it is also a good time to think about the next phase of my career.
I believe Digita will be incredibly successful in the future. The highly-skilled staff combined with high-quality national infrastructure gives you all the prerequisites for success. Future digitalization initiatives and growing telecommunications needs in various industries will also create good preconditions for digital infrastructure pioneers like Digita. No company, not even Digita, can succeed without customers and partners, so a big thank you to all customers and stakeholders for pushing the digital infrastructure industry forward with us for all these years.
My last working day at Digita is April 4, and my first day as CEO of MPY Telecom will be on October 1. For someone who is active in agriculture, trail running, orienteering and hiking, this break could not have come at a better time. Perhaps this is also the time to finally realise my long-term dream, i.e., to learn how to properly paddle. The goal is also to develop my skills by reading literature on leadership, economics and AI. Feel free to send me any book suggestions. I do not need suggestions for sporting events, I have enough of them in my calendar already.
Even though I am leaving Digita for now, I hope there will still be new opportunities to catch up with you and discuss the exciting future of the industry. I hope to be able to stay in touch and see you in the future. I am always open to new opportunities and encounters, whether in terms of the future of digital infrastructure or tips for trail running.
Thank you again for the unforgettable years with Digita. I wish Digita’s customers and partners a wonderful and successful spring!
