Digita’s regional organisation brings local knowledge and presence every day – from Hanko to Utsjoki
The top-notch service that Digita provides to its customers and consumers doesn’t materialise out of thin air. It requires good local knowledge of all parts of Finland, and the ability to respond quickly. Digita has a nationwide regional organisation that is divided into ten fault repair regions. Digita’s Chief Operating Officer Markus Ala-Hautala explains why this regional organisation is vital to the company’s operations.
Ala-Hautala got his first taste of working for the regional organisation more than twenty years ago, during an internship at Digita in 2001.
“My assignments took me to several stations back then. During my internship, I got to see the workings of the regional organisation with my own eyes – and it was great to see how Digita professionals worked everywhere from the depths of the sewers to the tops of masts,” says Ala-Hautala.
The regional organisation is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all Digita services, such as fault repairs, expert services and measurements. Digita provides this service nationwide, and also sells it to other operators.
“Few operators have something like this completely under their control. It gives Digita a significant competitive advantage, as we can quickly respond to a variety of exceptional circumstances. When local knowledge, professional skills and presence are important, Digita’s regional organisation is the solution,” says Ala-Hautala.
The regional organisation benefits both Digita’s customers and consumers
Digita provides its customers with a high standard of reliable service every day of the year and all across Finland – which would not be possible without the regional organisation.
“We have profound local knowledge of every corner of Finland. This enables us to provide our customers with a high level of service, fast incident response times, and security during exceptional circumstances such as storms,” says Ala-Hautala.
The regional organisation also benefits consumers. Thanks to this effective regional organisation, Finns can enjoy Digita’s radio and television services practically 24/7, and these services are available from Hanko to Utsjoki. Digita carries out a lot of preventive maintenance, and is prepared for exceptional circumstances.
“It’s not easy to prepare for every situation in advance, but thanks to our nationwide presence and professionalism, we’re also well placed to respond to situations that have never even occurred to us before,” says Ala-Hautala.
