The Betonilive by Digita, which started on April 3, has garnered over 270,000 views and channel visits. The live broadcast has also achieved a significant milestone, and the season finale is now predicted during Easter or soon after.

The live stream, showcasing the drying of concrete, produced by Digita in collaboration with Mitta Oy and Pukki Visuals, has been this spring’s slow-tv experience and has already reached over 270,000 views through the website and antenna TV channel 38. The TV viewing analysis is based on Digita’s hybrid TV analytics.

At the same time, the broadcast has been discussed on social media forums and even made news in the United States and the Netherlands.

“We are very pleased that Betonilive has achieved such popularity. It has beautifully demonstrated that people crave grounding experiences as a counterbalance to a hectic life. And of course, to gain general knowledge about IoT solutions and the soul of concrete,” says Tuomas Kolkka, VP IoT at Digita.

Finland’s perhaps most famous concrete pour has reached a 69 percent dryness level at the time of the press release. Experts estimate that the concrete will reach the desired dryness level by May Day at this pace.

“What better way to celebrate Easter than to witness the peak moment of concrete drying. We invite all viewers to watch the season finale, after which Betonilive will take an indefinite break,” Kolkka explains.

Modern IoT technology enables the monitoring of moisture in structures and is also used in Betonilive, so viewers receive real-time information on how dry the concrete slab is at any given time.

Betonilive also includes Mitta Oy and its Wiiste measurement systems for the construction industry. Mitta has been responsible for casting the concrete element and installing the sensors that measure dryness.

Betonilive can be viewed online at Digita.fi/betonilive and on antenna TV channel 38. To see Betonilive on TV, antenna TV households need to rescan the channels. Most receivers automatically search for channels. Some older receivers may require a factory reset before scanning for channels. Instructions for tuning channels can be found in the device’s user manual and on the digita.fi website.

If the media wants to use the stream in their channels, they can contact Digita’s communications.
