The municipality of Kinnula is located between Kokkola and Jyväskylä. Ilkka Paananen, who has worked as technical director in the municipality of approximately 1,600 inhabitants for about five years, has been satisfied with the digitalization of the water supply with Digita.

“We had heard excellent feedback regarding Digita’s services, so we decided to start collaborating with them a few years ago. The cooperation has gone well, and the digitalization of the water supply helps us serve our customers even better,” says Paananen.

Digita’s LoRaWan network and new water meters enable Kinnula to better manage and invoice the water supply network in real time. “The digitalization of the water supply frees up a huge amount of working time and enables cost savings and the detection of leaks,” says Paananen.

The My Water application has also been useful. The cloud-based application provides customers with an up-to-date view of water consumption data.

According to Mona Miettinen, Senior Sales Manager for IoT Services at Digita, Kinnula has quickly understood how its water company benefits from digitalization, and it wants to be a pioneer in providing services to customers.
