HELSINKI 23, May 2024 – In 2019, technology company Digita Ltd and housing investment company SATO Oyj started collaborating to enable higher-quality mobile connections in SATO’s properties. As SATO’s partner, Digita has been responsible for all lease activities and lease management related to the properties’ telecom operations.
“When we started our collaboration, our goal was to ensure our customers have the best mobile connections everywhere in Finland and to have centralized control of the base station leases. Today, functioning and fast mobile connections are the basic prerequisite of living as remote work has become more common and we use services requiring high-quality mobile connections, such as streaming services,” says Juha-Pekka Järvenpää, Director, SATO.
“The collaboration with Digita has been smooth, and the service implemented by Digita has freed up time to focus on our core business,” Järvenpää continues. “We have been able to provide operators with a growing number of suitable base stations, and the growth has been significant over the past four years.”
“Thanks to our cooperation, SATO’s base station portfolio is well organized. We have reviewed all base station locations installed in SATO buildings and ensured that the leases and invoicing are up to date. In addition, we have marketed the base stations in their new properties to operators,” says Ari-Pekka Ainonen, Director, Site Services Business Unit at Digita. “Our service enables real estate owners to grow their turnover without additional investments by leveraging non-productive areas,” he summarizes.
The increasing need for digital infrastructure gives property and building owners the possibility to expand their business by leasing out space from their buildings and land as base station locations. Digita’s base station management service is an easy way for property owners to offer facilities for lease, and the base stations installed in buildings are always built to suit the urban environment.
